An elegant 19th-century electrified patinated bronze sculpture titled Echo, by Léopold Bracony, a notable French sculptor known for his romantic and allegorical subjects. This finely cast salon piece portrays a neoclassical female figure seated with one hand lifted to her ear in a pose of attentive listening, referencing the mythological nymph Echo.

The sculpture is mounted on a decorative bronze base, with a title plaque reading “Echo – Salon des Beaux-Arts” and a built-in mechanical switch, indicating it may have originally served as a parlor lamp or illuminated display. Discreet punctures on the back and an opening at the base support this hypothesis, though the wiring is now removed or non-functional.

The surface retains a natural patina with light verdigris oxidation beneath, and the original casting details remain crisp—particularly in the drapery and facial modeling. Bracony’s signature is present near the plinth, affirming its authenticity.
