Antique Dugan/Diamond Bluebird Hand-Painted Plate Ca. 1917 8"D

$25.00
Quantity available: 1

Dugan/Diamond "Bluebird" hand-painted clear glass plate with ground foot rim, circa 1917.  Made in Indiana, Pennsylvania.  Measures 8"d.  Depicts 3 birds in flight, painted on the back side of the plate.  Found a reference to the pattern on page 163 in a book on Dugan/Diamond Glass by Heacock, Measell, and Wiggins.  They had no "live" examples in color, and I've been unable to find others on the internet, so I'm assuming they are rare, though the reference mentioned the pattern was copied from European examples, likely Bohemian (Czech).  This one matches the star cut design on the Dugan advertisements.  Has a few bubbles and glass flaws, but no actual chips or cracks.  Metallic rim shows wear.  Sold as is.  Inglenook Antiques...Established 1989.
