Disston D8 Rip Saw Thumb Hole Handle 26 inch
This is a nice clean 1930's 6 TPI skew back rip-saw marked with the "DISSTON * PHILA * " logo on the handle medallion, the etching on the blade is not visible. The handle is solid, with some finish wear, has darkened in color almost black in a few small area along the border, some staining a some minor dings and scratches, but overall in very nice solid condition, a small chipped off area on the upper ear as shown in the photo, no missing brass hardware all functional. All the brass hardware is in very good condition, holding the handle firmly in place on the 26" blade. The blade is about 98% straight, no bends or kinks, but not quite perfectly straight, and very clean, very little pitting, no rust. We note two chipped tips on two teeth on near the tip end and two very slightly chipped teeth at the handle end not next to each other, and should clean up in the next few sharpening. The teeth could use a shapening and angle set, but the saw does cut as is. A very clean rip hand-saw overall, in both appearance and functionality!
