Chinoiserie Japanned and Ormolu Bronze Gueridon Side Table After Adam Weisweiler

Unavailable

Our gueridon in the Louis XVI style, after the original design by Adam Weisweiler (1744-1820) is finely crafted from mahogany and thuya wood and ormolu bronze, and features japanned Chinoiserie scenes on table top and stretcher.  Underside of the top carries the spurious stamped mark, A. WEISWEILER.  Condition is good.  There is wear to each table top particularly at the seams of the panels, and some warping to the top, plus some oxidation to the gilding in spots. An exceptional example of Chinoiserie style and one of the finest antique reproductions of Weisweiler's designs we have seen in our 20 years in business.
