Our bronze depicting the hunter, Acteon (or Actaeon), after Adrien Etienne Gaudez (French, 1845-1902) measures 45.5 by 20 by 10 inches and is in good condition.  (Pedestal shown is not included.)  Inscription on base reads A. Gaudez / Acteon / par A. Gaudez / hors concours.

In Greek mythology, Acteon was the son of the herdsman Aristaeus and Autonoe, and a Theban hero, and fallen by Artemis.
