Cobblers Hammer Antique Cobbler's 1 Pound

Unavailable

This is a nice, clean mid-1800's era, 1 pound cobblers hammer that is not marked by the maker. You can tell that this is the older type sand casting as there are flow lines in the metal which reveals an older style of casting the head form.  It has a different form shape also, uniquely different from those of the early 1900's era for example.  The head has a 1.9"  diameter head, (the anvil end is also 2" wide) and has a handle that is 9" long overall. In very good shape with some wear, no rust. The handle is solid and fits good, in very good condition (we do note that the handle has a split just outside the confines of the head, most likely due to the tapered insert used to snug the handle in the head), strong and holding tightly in place. The head is in nice shape, not rusty, in ready to use condition.
