Charles Joseph Roufosse Bronze Sculpture of Nymph Scattering Roses

Unavailable

Our finely sculpted and cast figure of Les Roses, after the original model by Charles-Jospeh Roufosse (1853-1901) depicts a lovely nymph scattering roses.  An exceptional work after the original that debuted at the Paris Salon in 1894, and in very good condition, with some rubbing wear to the patina, scratches and remnants of polish.

Charles Roufosse was born in Belgium and studied with Auguste Maillard and Antonin Mercié at the Beaux-Arts in Paris.  A member of the Society of French Artists, the Société des artistes français, he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1885 to 1899.
