C. F. Boseck & Co Haida Austria Porcelain Lobed Squared Bowl Bohemian circa 1880 - 1918 with Japanese Inspired Design
Rare and unusual Lobed Squared Bohemian Bowl by C. F. Boseck & Co Haida Austria Porcelain circa 1880 - 1918 with Japanese Inspired Design . The sides are undulated and the corners are rounded and lobed with key hole cut in's. , Iron red ground with all-over gilt by hand decoration in the Japanese manner reserving linked ovals painted with gilt outlined fruit, flower, bamboo, cherry blossom & birds. An eight pointed star with a circle designed centered with a bird on stump flanked by volcanoes on one side and flowers on the other. The design is trimmed with gold throughout. The condition is excellent for age. There is some foot rim wear but it is so slight. Plus some of the gold trim on the rim shows some wear. It measures 8.5 across and about 4" tall. and is heavy. It is marked on the bottom with a winged crown and bee in red, And there is an additional impressed mark that I cannot make out.
