Burlington Route A Symbol More Than A Train Ad 1944 this is a April 29, 1944 advertisement. It is a nice black and white ad from Burlington . Ad shows the Pioneer Zephyr, daddy of them all, first diesel streamline train in America. Christened on April 28, 1934, entered regular service November 11, 1934. Today Burlington has 14 gleaming stainless steel Zephyrs operating on its system lines. In mint condition. Photo is taken through plastic and may show wrinkles or crookedness that is not in the ad. This original magazine tear sheet measures 10 1/2 inches wide by 13 1/2 inches tall.
