Description:
This powerful and elegant Shona stone sculpture is the work of Lameck Bonjisi, one of the celebrated sculptors of Zimbabwe’s modern stone carving movement. Created from a single piece of black serpentine stone, this piece exemplifies Bonjisi’s signature blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary abstraction.

The figure is an elongated and stylized human face, delicately carved with smooth flowing curves and incised geometric details. One side of the face is deeply polished to a mirror sheen, while the other features subtle etched linear motifs that echo tribal designs. The piece evokes both serenity and strength, standing tall with an unmistakable presence.

Bonjisi’s works are internationally collected and admired for their expressive minimalism and their deep connection to Shona cultural heritage.
