Offering this rare antique 1922 patent tachometer, speed indicator in it's original fitted box/case! The body of the tool is marked "748 BROWN & SHARPE MFG. CO. PROVIDENCE R.I. U.S.A. PATENTED NOV.28.1922". On the same side as this marking is a knurled thumb wheel in the center, this is used to reset true 0 before you begin a measurement. The front side has two measurement windows on the dial, and is designed to read up to 5,000 rpm, and all lower speeds as well.  One can use the steel tip that is not removeable, or the rubber tip supplied. The angle of the rubber tip has some wear but still useable.  The knurl end handle is removeable if you need to, it's in great shape. All the dial number and line markings are about 99% like new. The indicator was tested and works correctly, no damage, smooth running. The cardboard box is nice! Very little wear, and clearly marked BROWN & SHARPE 748 SPEED INDICATOR" in black lettering on the end paper label. Overall, a very nice indicator with very little wear!
