Brown & Sharpe Vernier Depth Gage No. 600 Gauge w/Case

Quantity available: 1
This is a rare antique, vernier depth gauge with both the 6" and the 12" vernier scale/rules with the inch graduations on one side of each rule. The narrow rules are specially made for this tool No. 600 only. The rules are marked "B&S MFG. CO. PROV. R.I. U.S.A. 600" and have graduations that allow reading down to .001" combined we the scale on the frame of the tool. Overall this tool is in very good working, good clean rules with only very minor staining to report in a few small areas, the main body of the tool is very clean, no rust on any part, has a good working fine adjustment and all the screws and threads are in very good working order. The base is 2.6" wide. We do note the fine adjustment screw appears to be a replacement screw, but it is the correct size screw, just a slightly different head on it. The case is a good solid two piece wood type with a thin black leather like material over the wood. The leather is worn off on some corners, but otherwise in good shape. The hinges and latches all work well, and it is custom fit inside for both rules and the main No. 600 gauge, velvet lines inside. Overall a nice antique machinist gage, in very good working order! This fine adjustment type depth gauge is still availiable today, new for over $400 without the nicely lined case.
