Brooch/C.1920's Ceramic Jousting Knight Figural/Possibly French in Origin

$39.00
Quantity available: 1

A really great little figural brooch made of what I believe is ceramic, with a wonderful aqua/rust glaze. There is some crazing to the glaze. The ceramic piece is held onto a specialy shaped brass base with 7 large "prongs". He has a gloved hand holding a jousting spear riveted through the ceramic and into the brass plate. It has a modified "safety pin" type clasp that may have been a trombone clasp originaly, but has lost some of it's parts. I believe this little guy may be of French origins, but have no proof. In any case, he is very interesting and very unique in my neck of the woods! It measures approx. 2 1/4"X1 1/2".
