Our antique hookah ( huqqa ) is crafted from a 17th century Chinese blue glazed porcelain vase with Ottoman turkish silver mounts dating from the 19th century.  Bottle trimmed to receive the mounts.  Silver furnace features a flaring mouth and plain stem and base engraved with repeated floral motif. Provenance: Christie's sale of Arts & Textiles of the Islamic & Indian Worlds, London, October 9, 2015, lot 403.
