This is a rare and hard to find "PERFECT HANDLE" or "KNIFE HANDLE" (as it is sometimes called), slot screwdriver. This one has a rather unique design with the round shank extending for the socket in the handle, appears to have been two seperate piece fused together in the forging process. It is marked with a name and nice logo, very clearly "BELKNAP BLUE GRASS TRADE MARK LOUISVILLE U.S.A. PAT. APPL'D FOR" on the shank. It is in good++ condition with no rust, good solid, well attached wood sections, the wood is clean with some minor dings, a few small stains noted, nice finish on the wood sections, and on the steel. We do note that the handle end steel has been tapped with a hammer, or used as a hammer over the years, note bad, but noted. The tip is in nice shape 1/4" wide. The actual overall length is 8.5". The steel is clean, nicely polished surface, very nice overall!
