Barbedienne Tiffany & Co. Louis XVI Champleve Bronze Mantel Clock and Candelabra

Our client's Louis XIV style bronze and champleve enamel garniture including mantel clock and candelabra date were made by Barbedienne in the last quarter of the nineteenth century for Tiffany and Company of New York.  With movement by Samuel Marti et Cie and Candelabra 26 1/4 by 9 by 8 inches.  Clock 23 1/2 by 12 1/2 by 9 inches.

The clock has a two-train movement striking on a gong with the firm's "medaille de bronze" medallion and impressed 6323 Tiffany & Co./ New York; set within an architectural case.   Each front corner features male and female herms and the sides of the back have champlevé column.

Movement not currently working, but we may restore to working order for our customer at our expense. Pendulum missing but may be replaced. Rear door to clock compartment missing, as is the glass over the face. Considerable oxidation and rubbing wear to the gilt surfaces. Scattered areas of verdigris. Slight bends to the candle arms. Right rear column separated slightly from the clock case

May be professionally cleaned and regilt for an additional fee.
