This beautiful antique marble top dresser is in brown mahogany, heavily carved, and dates from the Victorian era. It has been previously refinished in a beautiful finish with a satin sheen color. I would date this from around the 1880s. I don’t like to always say this, but it resembles a piece from Horner although I don’t believe it to be made by Horner. It is certainly a high-end quality piece. It has an extra heavily 1.25 bevel edge mirror that swivels and is in good condition. The mirror is wrapped around by a solid brown mahogany frame with carvings all the way around, rope twist going up and the very top corners having angels carved in both sides. The base has a beautiful rose quartz bevel edge marble top. The miniature knobs on the base look like miniature doorknobs. The base has three drawers going across top above the wonderful carved door that has the carved dragons incorporated into the fleur-de-lis and the bottom has a bow front notch carved drawer. The outside posts have roped braided edges had the wonderful detail claw foot base. It is even carved on the sides with big, raised panels on the ends. It is a heavy piece. The overall size is 54 inches wide, 24 inches deep, 31 inches high to the marble top and 77 inches high to the top of the mirror. The mirror glass is 39 inches wide by 35 inches tall. It is a fantastic piece that is in wonderful shape. I don’t see any big negatives at all. What a great find this was in upper New York.
