One from the series of twelve issued by Wedgwood, c. 1882, the design variously ascribed to Thomas Allen, but probably Helen J.A. Miles, illustrating characters from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." A wonderful series to collect. This tile depicts "Bottom" and is printed in sepia brown on white clay and is in very good condition with two upper edge nicks left of center and toward right as shown; finished in a soft, glossy glaze.
