Antique Adlake No. 250 kerosene railroad lantern with red glass globe, circa 1920's. This wonderful piece of Americana, the ADLAKE NO. 250 KERO, was manufactured by THE ADAMS & WESTLAKE CO. of NEW YORK - CHICAGO - PHILA., according to the raised lettering on the top of the chimney. The raised lettering on the lower part of the cover indicates that the lantern was MADE IN U.S.A., PAT'D NOV. 26 - 1911 - APR. 1 - 1913 - MAY 9 - 1922 - CANADA - 1921 - 1923. PATS PENDING. The number 4704 is also stamped on the cover. On the red glass globe on one side is ADLAKE KERO in raised letters, and CORNING, MADE IN USA on the opposite side. The lantern measures approximately 9 inches high and 6 inches in diameter (without the handle). With the handle up, the lantern measures approximately 16 inches high and 8 inches wide. The lantern is in very good condition, with no apparent chips or cracks to the globe. It has been lightly cleaned; the metal shows some wear and oxidation.
