Allison One Man Bombers Ad 1945 This is a July 14, 1945 advertisement. It is a nice color ad from Allison Division of General Motors. Ad shows picture of the aircraft motor and serviceman loading a bomb for next trip. Ad reads, Lockheed P-38 Lightnings, powered by Allison engines and originally designed as fighter planes, are now being used also as one man bombers . When the two bombs one under each wing are released the Lightnings continue to combat as fighters, a dual attainment made possible by the engines extremely light weight. Powered by Allison is the P38 Lightning, the P39 Airacobra, the P40 Warhawk and the A36 and P51A Mustang. In mint condition. Photo is taken through plastic and may show wrinkles or crookedness that is not in the ad. This original magazine tear sheet measures 10 1/2 inches wide by 13 1/2 inches tall.
