These two antique leather bound books were probably premiums from a bank when people deposited money into them. The bank is Tremont  Trust Company Boston Massachusetts.  It was closed down in 1921 for charges of LAW VIOLATIONS because the officials Declared that Bad and Doubtful Loans Have 'Seriously Impaired' Its Capital.  This is volume 1 and 2 of King Henry the IV by William Shakespeare. YOU can see the original portrait etching of him in the first book. It has a rice paper page over it to protect it.    The books measure 3 1/4" x 2 1/2 .            VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our pieces regardless of which site it comes from. All layaway payments will need to be in the form of a check or money order only.
