Tapio Wirkkala (1915-1985) Crystal Iceberg Vase

This beautiful vase designed in 1950 by the Finnish artist, Tapio Wirkkala (1915-1985), is known as Vase Jäävuori' (Iceberg).  It is crafted from blown crystal with a cut top and measures 7.5 x 6.5 x 7.15 inches.  This piece was produced by Iitala in Finland from 1951 to 1969.  Condition is good. There are light scratches, and scratch wear to the underside. 

This design was included Poetry in Glass, Porcelain and Silver, held at the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Riga, Latvia in the fall of 2017, a retrospective featuring works from the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Riga, the Finnish Glass Museum in Riihimäki, and the private collection of Kyösti Kakkonen.
