18th Century Korean Floor Screen
This finely executed provincial Korean byobu (floor screen) has been recently cleaned and remounted in two parts. The tranquil scene of poets enjoying a tea ceremony surrounded by attendants in a peaceful pavilion is executed in suitably muted tones highlighted by firm reds and subtle gilt details. Korean, Eighteenth Century, Koryo Period, each of the two screens is approximately 37-1/2 inches high and 50 inches wide.
