18996 Set of 10 French Carved Oak Dining Chairs – Rare
We are pleased to be offering today this very scarce and rare type item in the antique world: a set of 10 matching dining chairs. These are constructed of solid oak in a French style. They are very dainty yet sturdy dining chairs that dates from the 1910’s to 1920’s era. It could be a bit earlier on the date though. They are all solid oak construction. They come with fiber/rush seats. There are 3 seats that have minor damage on them. They can be repaired by someone that does caning. We do not have the ability to repair them in our shop. The chairs themselves are really nice with carved flowers in the back, triple open design with a carved shapely back, flared back leg, cabriole dainty front leg, carved skirt on the trim of the seat and a multi turn tapered spindle cross stretcher that adds style. The finish is a dark oak stain. The overall condition is nice. The only problem other than minor nicks and dings is that a couple of the chairs came apart a bit and someone repaired them. They didn’t do the best job and we can touch them up for the buyer if you remind us at the time of the sale. The overall size is 19 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 38 inches high to the chair back and 18.5 inches high to the seat. You are getting all 10 chairs for one money. Shipping starts at $285 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to obtain a quote for outside of New England for shipping.
