18987 Victorian Marble Top with Burl Hall Tree
We are pleased to be offering today this Victorian age (1860s-1870s) solid black walnut marble top hall tree with burl walnut panels throughout. It has hand carved handle and the original ogee white bevel edge marble. It retains the original cast iron drip pans that have a patent date on them of 1870. They were made by the C Blake Company. It is really nice to have a little documentation on the age of this type of stuff. There have been a few cracks on the wooden back as it was near a window and there is a bit of fading on the drawer and umbrella holders. This is a perfect candidate for restoration. We can quote you for a complete restoration if you desire. It is the old original Victorian age hall tree with minor issues, but basically the finish is not as nice as I would like to see it even though it is usable. It comes with a hand carved super tall crest, big bold molding come down at the degree angle, original 8 pegs, picture frame molded edge mirror, burl panels all the way through and pretty much all original. The only thing is the fading on the front as shown in the pictures. It can be tinted down some without a full restoration as well. The overall size is 40 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 90 inches high. The marble has no damage and is pretty nice with only a couple of surface scratches. The cast iron pans are nice with no cracks or damage. Even the multi-turn spindle posts that hold up the umbrella holders are all intact. Shipping starts at $345 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
