Zippo Lighter Charles E Standard Ad 1965 This is a November 12, 1965 advertisement. It is a nice black and white ad from Zippo Manufacturing Company of Bradford, Pa. Black background. Hand is holding a lit lighter and it reads, Charles E Standard's 1942 Zippo lighter wears Navy wings. It was in his pocket during the First Philippine Sea Battle when he hit a Japanese heavy cruiser and was awarded the Navy Cross. Mr Standard went his Zippo in for a tune up recently and he wrote. Please don't refinish it. That would spoil its' personality. We didn't We just fixed it free> In excellent condition. Photo is taken through plastic and may show wrinkles or crookedness that is not in the ad. This magazine tear sheet measures 10 1/2 wide by 14 tall.
