This is a pressed glass open salt, salt dip or salt cellar in the Zipper pattern made in the 1970s by Imperial Glass Company, USA. The salt dip measures 1.25 inches high by 2 in diameter and is excellent condition. The open salt pattern can be seen on page 61 of 5000 Open Salts by Heacock and Johnson. Open salts are being used now for sauces, sushi, teabags and as ring holders. A very versatile little collectible.
