Unavailable
This is a nice clean North Brothers Yankee No. 31A spiral ratchet screwdriver in very good working condition. Marked "NORTH BROTHERS YANKEE NO. 31A PHILA. PA. U.S.A PAT DEC. 20, 1923 MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" This is the biggest size of the three Yankee sizes manufactured, (22.25" long overall without the bit in it), offered with one removable No. 2 size Phillips, and (2) different sizes of slot tips. In very good working condition. There is some minor wear on the handle, a few dings but over 95% of the maroon paint is intact. The exterior of the main shaft is nickel plated, and over 80% of the plating is still intact, light wear one small ding on the metal not effecting use, and one W scratched into the plating, a past owner's mark, otherwise clean and smooth. Some Yankee screwdrivers No. 131A) are spring loaded in the spiral section, (quick return), this is a No. 31A with no quick return spring as per factory made, works fine. This is the primary difference between the No. 31 and No. 131 models. You can use this screwdriver with or without spiral or ratchet, using the adjustment setting on the main shaft. This is a nice clean old one! <br> I have hex drive adapters available for sale, to fit this screwdriver, listed here on this site at additional cost. The adapter allows you to use modern hex drive bits and bit sets, like nut drivers, and star type bits for example.
