A patinated and gilt bronze plaque, the design raised in shallow relief, depicting The Madonna looking down and holding the Christ Child on her lap with both hands as the Child leans forward making a fruit offering to young Saint John the Baptist. The plaque, 11 1/4 in. wide by 24 1/2 in. high is set within a 6 3/4 in. wide rosewood frame with elegant circular wreaths of flowers and laurel leaves filling the corners and tied with ribbons gracefully turning into bows. Overall height 25 1/2 in. by 37 3/4 in.
