Probably British, this steel hand grenade is stamped 1940. Probably a Mills No. 36 MK1. Obviously no longer a weapon, it has no release bar, and possibly not the original pin. Mounted on a round steel base. Quite heavy. Measures about 10 cm high (incl. the base) and the grenade it self is 5.9 cm diameter (4 inches by about 2.3/8 inches). Has surface corrosion, but could probably be removed with a bit of hard work. Traces of khaki green. The base could be replaced with a clean disc. Quite a novelty.
