Warehouse find! This is from an old souvenir shop in San Diego, CA that catered to the military during WWII. Sort of a celluloid/plastic that was made in the mid 1940's. The boxes measure 1 X 2 1/2 X 3". The above measurements are for the display. All are in gray & black or combinations of both. There are 2 with the Navy emblem, 1 has the Marine emblem, 1 has the Army emblem & 1 has the Army Air Corps emblem on it. The rest are plain. Inside the bottom of all but 4 of the boxes is embossed with "mfg by Veri-Nu Products Co. Alhambra, Calif. Pat Appl'd for Made In U.S.A.". They all have some storage wear & the box has been repaired. In pencil inside the lid is written "65 cents" & in pen on the top of the lid "Plain & Service".
