Joseph Leyendecker (1874-1951) was one of the American poster artists who donated their time to create patriotic posters for World War I. In probably his most famous poster, a Boy Scout on bended knee offers a sword to Miss Liberty. The inscription says, "be prepared," the famous scout motto. The poster is linen backed, measures 20" x 30" and is in excellent condition.
