Western Reserve Federal Fan Mantel c.1810-1820

Unavailable
To an Ohio early neoclassic soft pine fireplace having a double arcaded shelf with rich mouldings above a quarter round dentil course and various mouldings. The mantel frieze is mounted with three paneled tablets each containing applied fan carved devices in high relief. The tablets are footed on a moulded band course which also forms capitals for two stop reeded footed pilasters which are mounted to the mantel jambs or legs. A small moulded member is applied to the interior and exterior of the mantel vertical surfaces. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting. NOTE: This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes. (#1633)
