For Sale I have a Lovely piece of Pottery made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is "Cornish" and the form is a Candlestick.

The Candlestick depicts a Mottled Salmon or Terra Cotta colored Background Glaze. Weller considered this their Brown in this line. There are embossed leaves with a stem that has berries hanging from it. The Leaves overlay four rings that surround the Candlestick and there are Mock Scroll Handles applied on each side. The back of the Candlestick is Plain save for the Mottled Glaze. The leaves have an Olive Green Hue to them and two of the Berries are Glazed in a Dark Blue. The other three are Glazed in a Pale Green as if they have not ripened as of yet.

The Candlestick is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is one spot on the back side of the Candlestick that seems like there was another piece in the kiln when it was fired that might have exploded and left a small piece of unglazed clay on top of the Glaze. This does not detract from the piece as the pattern is on the front side and is only mentioned for accuracy. The Candlestick is signed on the bottom with the incised Script"Weller Pottery" as well as the letter "B" in Black. This was more than likely the Artist or the finisher's mark.

This Candlestick will work well in any Arts and Crafts of Mission setting as well as a Country decor. The Candlestick was made Circa 1933.
