For Sale I have lovely Vase made by The Weller Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Baldin" and the piece is just delightful. The bottom and the top has a diameter of 2 1/2".
This Vase has a wonderful Blending of Green and Brown, Earth Tone Glazes. The Vase displays several very realistic looking Apples. The Apples are hanging from Branches and are Ripe, Plump and some are ready for Picking. The leaves have very nice coloring in them as well. The Apples are glazed in Red with Yellow and slight hues of green. I believe they are Macintosh Apples or "Macs" as we say here in the Northeast.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is a Clay inclusion on one of the apples but that was made that way. The bottom has rough spots where the Vase sat. This is common with the Baldin Vases as that happened when it was fired. The piece is not signed but there is no mistaken that this was made by the Weller Pottery Company.
This Weller Baldin Vase has some wonderful coloring and detail. I'm sure the buyer will not be disappointed with their Purchase. This Vase will work in any Mission, Arts and Crafts or Country Decor. In Fact, I think it will work with most decors including primitives. The Vase was produced during Weller's early Middle Period. This piece was made Circa, 1915-1920.
