One from the series of twelve issued by Wedgwood, c. 1882, the design variously ascribed to Thomas Allen, but probably Helen J.A. Miles, illustrating characters from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." A wonderful series to collect. This tile depicts "Moth" and is printed in blue on white clay and is in good condition with old upper and lower left corner restorations and surface flakes at bottom right and left; finished in a soft, glossy glaze with a glaze skip at upper right corner.
