Here is a portrait of a hunting dog in black on white. I am not sure whether it is from the series of six subjects known as the Dogs' Heads Series by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, Pattern No. 283, c. 1870-1878, or from their series of "Fresco Heads", pattern no. 274. In any event, this beautiful tile is in excellent original condition with a slight upper edge nick under the glaze near the left corner and slight upper edge wear near right as shown; fine glossy glaze.
