WALTHAM 1883 MODEL SANTA FE ROUTE FANCY DIAL Circa: 1896. Rare. Superb condition 1883 model . This model displays the Santa Fe Route Banner on the balance bridge. The condition is superb. This famous model predates the Santa Fe Special in sixteen size produced a decade latter in 1906. Especially desirable and collectible in this superb original condition. Clean, running and accurate. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
Dial: White porcelain single sunken with 18k gold leaf and marked: “WALTHAM”. Two hairlines does not distract.
Movement: 18 size, open face model, lever set, plate nickel, “Santa Fe Route” inside a satin finished surface banner, “Adjusted”, all screw down 14k rose gold capped jewel settings, 17 Jewels, #7,454,209. Very nice, and especially rare.
Case: Heavy double hinged back and bezel excellent yellow gold filled fancy case with a home in the country on back center and a blank dust cover. Very nice. All lids shuts tight. Extra heavy original hard rock beveled crystal.
