Oil on canvas depicting a horse with his best friends, two Dalmations. A charter member of the Society of Animal Artists, Wilwerding was born in Winona, MN and spent most of his career in MN, where he was an instructor in animal drawing, then Vice President and Director of Drawing for the Public Schools. He was a member of The National Advisory Board for Art Instruction in the Schools and was an author and illustrator on several books of drawing and painting animals. He was known as an illustrator, painter and graphic artist. He is listed in Who Was Who in American Art.
