Check out the beadwork on this Renaissance Revival Victorian fire screen. The background is composed of electric blue colored glass beads. All the clothes, angel wings and bouquets of flowers are beaded in elegant shades of black, grey, white and taupe. The hair, facial features, arms and legs are done in petit point. The beading is exquisite and in fabulous condition. There are some very minor losses along the lower part of the screen, nothing offensive or distracting. On the left side of the screen, the fabric is slightly pulled away from the frame. The size of the beadwork measures 18.5 X 20.5. The walnut fr5ame has a lovely pierced carved crest and fully turned and carved columns with delicately turned finials on either side. Notice the applied burled walnut panels along the picture frame. The pedestal base is ornately carved and supported by 4 legs. There is gold inci8sing and highlighting throughout the frame. Look closely and you will see 6 applied carvings that are missing on the 4 legs. These are not immedi8ately obvious. There is also a 2.5 trim piece missing on the lower left column. In addition, the very back leg has some loses. The screen retains its original finish which is in excellent condition. The frame is tight and sturdy. What a lovely example of true Victoriana beadwork.
