Click thumbnails for expanded view.
This is a unique walnut bust of a pawn. It is 16 inches tall, 7 1/2 inches in diameter and has good detail. It was carved by a man named Bill Hoobing in 1980. His intent was to carve one for each piece in the game of chess but was unable to complete it. He is an experienced carver and has carved many others. There is a crack down the right side of the pawns face. This bust would make a nice conversation piece in your home or be used for decoration.
