This is a lovely walnut bust of a king in the game of chess. It is 15 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter. This bust is hand carved with nice detail. It was made by Bill Hoobing in 1980. He is an experienced carver and has carved many others. His goal was to carve a head for each piece in the game of chess but never finished it. There is a crack on the right side of the kings helmet. This bust would make a great decoration or conversation piece.
