W. Schollhorn Pliers Wire Cutters Pat. 1894 LODI
This is nice clean pliers wire cutters tool with an patent date on the large of the two included in this offering. The smaller is not marked, but has the same design as the larger one, so I included it as I believe it was made by the same company. The smaller pliers (5" long) are useable but has some pitting noted covering most every area of the smaller evenly. The larger pliers are also in useable condition with some wear noted but the wire cutters C shaped insets and edges are in good shape, pivot pins and jaws in decent shape, no rust on either pliers. The larger is marked by a rare maker as follows: "LODI." which is the W. Schollhorn Company trade name, one of the earliest manufactures of press steel formed tools (instead of forged or cast tools). There is a patent on the larger pliers also "PAT. SEPT.5.1894 RE.NOV.6.1900. These pliers do date back to the 1910's in this style. The larger pliers are 6" long, very clean condition for a pliers 100+ years old!
