These are a miniature of real weather vanes and they are just too cool.. North east south and west are all displayed in a dimensional vane. High quality and a really rare set, these are the perfect gift for your father or weatherman or woman in the family. Early weather vanes had very ornamental pointers, but modern wind vanes are usually simple arrows that dispense with the directionals because the instrument is connected to a remote reading station. An early example of this was installed in the Royal Navy's Admiralty building in London - the vane on the roof was mechanically linked to a large dial in the boardroom so senior officers were always aware of the wind direction when they met. What better way to give a gift than something unique and vintage. Here is something for the men or women that have everything! This would be a great idea because it is Vintage and not something you can buy everyday. OR perhaps just a perfect addition to a collection. They may have a little wear ( if any) but they sure have a lot of love that came with them when they were first bought. Boxed for gift giving; gift wrapped on request. ∆ Maker: HICKOK Hickok Manufacturing Company Inc. of Rochester New York was founded in the early 1900s. Major manufacturer of men's jewellery and accessories. The owner of Hickok manufacturing was a great-great nephew of the legendary Wild Bill Hickok. How appropriate that he created these gun slinging cowbows! Gunfighters range from occupations such as a lawmen, outlaw, duelist, but is commonly more synonymous to a hired gun. Like cowboys, gunfighters have become a cultural icon in modern times, and is an image of the American people abroad and of American warrior culture. ∆ Material: silver plate ∆ Size: see photo ∆ Weight: ( based on other cufflinks in comparison) medium ∆ Condition: Because these are vintage estate pieces and are vintage and possibly pre-worn so they are not considered new from the factory.
