Vintage Sterling Scarab Mechanical Flip Ring Hallmarked Egyptian ring

$210.00

What an unusual and strange  treasure from the art deco period. This sterling  flip ring holds a scarab on one side and the Hieroglyphics on the back which was common on a lot of deco scarab pieces. The scarab is  the Egyptian symbol for life renewed and with the discovery of King Tut's tomb in 1922 it triggered a revival of Egyptian styles in jewelry. The scarab beetle, became a theme for jewelry that lasted into the 1930s.and to this day is still very popular. The ring is a size 5 1/2 and is in great condition. The hinging mechanism works great too. Inside the band are markings that I am unable to make out.        VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our pieces regardless of which site it comes from. All layaway payments will need to be in the form of a check or money order only.
