Vintage Sterling Marcasite MOURNING brooch

You dont see these very often, much less in sterling. This has the memorial flowers on the front in sterling over black onyx to show that the person who wore this was in mourning. The floral basket was a commonly used symbol to help relate to the passing of a loved one. This brooch is large ( over 2 long and 1 1/3 wide) and in GREAT condition. Truly a spectacular piece with brillance and all its original stones as bright as the day this was made!
