Warehouse find! From San Diego shop that sold souvenirs to the military during WWII. In storage for almost 70 years. Leather was available from Mexico during the war years whereas the countries involved in the conflict had it rationed. San Diego is situated right on the border so lots of leather items could be found. Leather stitched together on the sides w/the bottom piece glued on. The front is stamped in brown:"Ladies' Drink, Gents' Drink" & a drawing of a pig. "Here's yours" underneath the pg. There is a small hole in the leather that allows contents of the flask to be viewed under the first & second lines. The other side reads:"It seems to be the greatest task to keep the CONTENTS in the flask. San Diego, California".
