Adele Simpson jewelry is extremely hard to find. This brooch is a gold-washed metal swirl design, with a central amethyst glass faceted prong-set non-foiled back stone. The stone is 3/4 inch in diameter, and is clear and intact, shows no surface damage, is free of chips or cracks, and the prongs are nice and tight. The gold-toned swirl formation similar to tubing, with 7 small open holes strategically placed on the back of the brooch, near where the signed plaque is. The signed plaque is Adele Simpson, written in script. The pin clasp works perfectly, but there is a slight bend in the pin, as can be seen in the photos. It does not affect the wear-ability or stability of the brooch in any way. As any costume piece, there is always some evidence of it being worn, especially when it is a special or unusual piece, such as this one!The pin weighs 35.2 grams, not pounds as in the above slot. (there was no option for 'grams' and I forgot the conversion math, lol). Adele Simpson made very little jewelry at all, she was famous for her clothing, and her jewelry line was very limited. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
