This wonderful wooden jewels chest after the original found in the tomb of Tuya and Yuya, great grandparents of King Tutankhamun, dates from the early to mid-twentieth century, and features polychrome and gilded, carved Egyptian hieroglyphics faithful to the original.  Measures 17.5 x 15.75 x 11 in, 44 x 40 x 28 cm.  Maker and country of origin are unknown.  Condition is very good. There are scratches, rubbing, fading and wear to the gilding and painted surfaces, and some veneer losses noticeable on one leg. Measures 17.5 x 15.75 x 11 in, 44 x 40 x 28 cm.  Maker and country of origin are unknown. The original resides in the Cairo Museum but has toured the world with other fine artifacts from the tomb of King Tut. This lovely piece could be used as decoration, or as a humidor.
