Vintage European art pottery jardinere from Heffen, Belgium. This distinctive piece features highly glazed, slightly irridescent green organic shapes on a pebbly, matte background of brown and tan. The interior is glazed in a deep caramel color, and the bottom is unglazed and slightly footed. The jardiniere measures about 5.5 inches high and 6.125 inches in diameter; it weighs about 2 pounds. It has the original gold and black foil label, which has "B.P.F" and "Heffen-Belgium" surrounding a graphic depicting pottery and an artist's palette. The pottery is in very good condition. There are a couple of tiny nicks in the foot, some light lime deposits on the interior, and a very small production imperfection on the top rim from which runs a faint hairline on the interior glaze which is very difficult to discern and does not appear to penetrate into the clay.
